Professional Background:

Steve is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management where he received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance. Steve went on to obtain his MBA from Columbia Business School where his studies and apprenticeships focused on value investing. Steve has over 20 years of financial services industry experience, including 12 years at Prairiewood Wealth Management and 10 years at Ernst & Young, LLP where he was a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Risk Management group. He provided advisory services to banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and hedge fund clients from the Minneapolis, New York City, and Zurich, Switzerland offices. Steve is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Personal Background:

Steve grew up in the Prairiewood neighborhood of Fargo which was the inspiration for the name of Prairiewood Wealth Management. Steve attended Fargo South, and his interest in business and finance was sparked at a young age by his entrepreneurial grandfather. Steve currently resides in South Fargo and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He enjoys researching companies, watching college hockey, reading, and gardening.

Steve has been the Treasurer of Ignite Church since 2015 and serves on the Board of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA).
